HOW TO DESIGN WEB PAGES

During the (optional) web design sessions, students will be taught how to make their documents into web pages using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). The first step in this process is for students to arrive having already created, using a word processor such as Microsoft Word 5.1 or BBEdit, the documents they wish to put up on the web. These documents must be saved as text files. Students will then be shown how to make simple web pages, how to put pictures in a web page, how to make tables, and how to make image maps.

I have created an HTML tutorial for you in two parts.

Tutorial, Part 1 (basic document creation and formatting, hypertext links, tables)
Tutorial, Part 2 (images and image maps)

In addition, Authoring an HTML Document (just the basics), A Beginner's Guide to HTML, Introduction to HTML, and HTML Goodies (which is very user-friendly and covers intermediate to advanced stuff) are all useful tutorials. More tutorials are also available.
